Please find below the confirmed arrangements that the CAAS has put together as accommodation options for interested conference participants.

HOTELS

All bookings are for the periods between May 26th, 2023 to 2nd of June, 2023.

Marriott Courtyard Vaughan

Individual Call-In: Please call Hotel's toll free Reservation Line, 1-866-449-7395 for Residence Inn & 1-866-449-7396 for Courtyard. For individuals to receive the established Group rate, they must identify themselves as members of the ''Canadian Association of African Studies” group initially when making the reservation. All reservations must be received by the group’s cut-off date. Reservations made after the cut-off date will be subject to availability and the most available rate.

Cut off Date: 26th of April 2023.

Rate: $194 for Standard King Room and Standard Queen Room. The Hotel room rates are subject to applicable taxes in effect at the time of check-in.

Complimentary package:Room reservation includes parking and wifi. Breakfast and Room Refreshments not included.

All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. Hotel will not hold any reservations unless secured by one of the above methods. Please bear in mind that a non-refundable advance deposit will be required in order for the hotel to hold your arrangements on a definite basis.

Distance:10 minutes by driving; 38 minutes by TTC.

Novotel Vaughan

Cut off date:April 28, 2023

Rate: $169plus tax (13% HST& 4% MAT) for Superior 1-bed King Room and Superior 2-bed Queen Room.

Complimentary package: parking, high speed internet, local telephone call and 1-800 numbers

Subcharge:$15 per person for triple or quadruple occupancy.

Guaranty/cancellation policy:All individual call-in reservations must be guaranteed to an individual credit card; company credit card or by advance deposit. All deposits for individual reservations are fully refundable if the reservation is cancelled by 4:00pm on the date prior to arrival (24 Hours). Should an attendee of the group cancel their room reservation after 4:00pm on the date prior to arrival (24 Hours), one night’s room revenue will be non-refundable.
