Membership
The Canadian Association of African Studies (CAAS) membership fee is based on self-reported income as follows:
- $125: income below $50,000
- $150: income between $50,000-100,000
- $175: income above $100,000
- $30: Africa-based scholars
- $60 Students
- $300: Gold level membership ($150 could be designated for student travel)
CAAS members enjoy the benefits of belonging to a diverse, multidisciplinary, and bilingual community of scholars and practitioners who foster an international exchange of knowledge and scholarly research on and in Africa. Specifically, CAAS members enjoy the following benefits:
- A subscription to the Canadian Journal of African Studies (CJAS) published three times a year, including not only print copies but also access to e-copies
- Access to the complete archive of CJAS published since 1967
- Participation in the annual CAAS Conference (Conference fee is applicable)
- Voting privileges at CAAS general meetings and an opportunity to become a member of the CAAS Executive
- 20% discount on all titles published by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group, the world’s leading academic publisher in the Humanities and Social Sciences
